I am not too sure Tim Cook or anyone of his pay grade is as tough as Steve is when it comes to these label execs.
That's why you hire someone who has those skills, has contacts in the industry, and get these deals done. You still have to find the "right person," but it doesn't seem impossible.

Who said anything about guarantee? I think this is about improving the overall quality of the apps. You may not agree with Apple's rules, but it seems to work for them. Fortunately, consumers have choice and can go with Android or other systems which allow them to install whatever they want without Apple having reviewed, tested and "approved" the App. Enjoy.

It's obvious that Steve Jobs was going to release the True Video iPod soon. I think they intended to release the true video iPod in October when they announced Movie downloads. Something must have happened that the iPod was just not ready, so they scrambled and made some minor upgrades that they intended to do anyways.
Apple knows it has to get it right or it could be a big disaster. Their goal is to release it before the holidays, but if for some reason they can't, it will be released at Mac World. I think their main issues that have caused it to be delayed is the battery life and the screen cover. The battery life has to be from 4 to 6 hours and the screen has to have some kind of protection that won't be damaged if it is touched constantly.
If it is going to be released it will happen anytime from now until the second week of November or during the first week of December. If it does not happen during these two time frames it won't happen until Mac World.

To the contrary, and considering that Jobs seems to have an affinity to some Japanese aesthetic sensibilities, the "eating, sleeping, loving, and relaxing" imperative for family space presumes some degree of sharing of such spaces with no negative notion of "lesser". To make all such facilities that private makes them isolated, stifling the family-oriented intimacy of the desired imperative. Perhaps more so, the extra bedrooms get only part-time use, so there is no need to commit extensive resources full-time to serving each of them individually (see prior comments on why no library/gym/sauna/screening-room/etc.).

Not quite. The data collection dialog was separate from the EULA agreement and was a voluntary opt-in. Whether you chose to opt-in or not did not affect how your device operated.
Personally, I opted-in. I have no problem helping Apple to maintain their location database.

Regardless, my point was that most people blindly click through those things (me included) and then get all mock-outraged when something comes up that was in the small print. It's taking a lot on trust to just click 'Accept' and most of the time it's OK... But check out the South Park episode for how it could go wrong..! :)

You might well be able to ask for a coffee in French, but if you are in a dentist's office in Austria that might not lead to satisfaction all around. Your assumptions aren't in sync.

Well, I have kept $200 in my savings account since Christmas and that's pretty much a feat in it's self. Anyways, I really need the iPhone 4S/5 to be released at WWDC and be some nice updates otherwise I'm going to be upset. I've had every iPhone since the 3G and each was released at WWDC so I don't know why they'll start now.

I would hope for a mid range "Cube like" computer only because I'm looking to upgrade soon.
That would be almost nice to have a cube, sort of what I was thinking of except have desktop or xeons instead it could be a desktop xeon (lga775) for all I care just give us the option for a desktop/server power dual and quad core, along with 2-4 (pref 4) ram slots, pci E graphics and a few hdd bays and get it out the door for 999 or less

They could have actually done both ... making the active perspective a sunken button (darker) with a slight raised frame around it and kept the inactive perspective raised (lighter). You could still push or slide depending on your whim.

I'm getting really tired of reading "iPhone on Verizon 4G after Christmas!" rumors on here. WHy is it that every time someone says "Oh, I've heard the iPhone's coming to Verizon in January," MacRumors puts it on the front page or Page 2? We're talking about hardware here, not OS. So Vista should have very little effect on Apple's PC marketshare, unless of course Vista's release encourages people to buy new PCs from Dell, HP, etc.
Yeah, that was my point--if there is an imminent OS release, there exists a significant number of consumers who will wait so that they can get Vista for "free." Same concept as not purchasing that iMac or MacBook in mid-march when you know that 10.5 will be out in a month.

But then I thought about it ... spoons are eating utensils ... perhaps we should call guns killing utensils.
Are you truly anti-gun or have you just not been exposed to them so that you understand how fun it is:
1) Use a shotgun to shoot clay targets;
2) Shoot a rifle, pistol or revolver and realize how much fun it is to shoot a gun and hit your paper target, bowling pin or tin can;
There has been a person or two that when I met them claimed they were very anti-gun, yet I was eventually able to get them out to shoot some of mine and they not only enjoyed themselves, but one of them actually took up skeet shooting as a hobby.
