I hope they introduce that option. Then it would be up to the customer to pick integrated or dedicated graphics, depending on his[her] needs.True, different people have different needs. Some should expect more out of a modern machine then integrated crapo graphics. My guess is 1st qtr next year we will see new Macbooks and they will have more integrated graphics since they kept the x1600 in the pro books. GMA3000 will show in it. Not to say I told anybody so but I predicted the Probooks would get the new core2s and the macbooks wouldnt. This gives Apple some seperation between the two lines. Apple could go cheap meaning speed bump CoreDuo's not Core2Duos and the integrated graphics that the fan club seems to love. Why not? As long as you have the cheap graphics whats the point of throwing in Core2? None that I can see.

i dont know if it was posted yet but god please put out an iphone with a physical keyboard.

Apple would benefit greatly by offering this form factor, in addition to its current model. Exactly what BlackBerry users rely on, the response would be fantastic.
That said, sadly Apple seems to have a true death grip on its narrow minded position of restricting the iPhone to one model only.

I want to put my O Brother, Where Art Thou? cd onto iTunes!! but I don't want to have all 15 artist names in the browser!
Is there any tips out there or do I just have to delete each name and just call it O Brother, Where Art Thou? so I can have it all under 1 artist - if you no what I mean??

Just saw this thread, so I figured I'd share some knowledge (been gaming for 8 years).
So the reason why people are avoiding these things like the plague is because they STINK. The Intel chipsets ARE more powerful than the NVIDIA 320M, BUT, that doesn't always equal better performance.
Game developers usually design games on nvidia chipsets (Hence, "Nvidia: The way it's meant to be played) slogan.
Although the 3000HD shows better specs, it's been proven to perform worse in game. The reason being that the drivers are total rubbish. Until they can improve the drivers, it's a downgrade. But then again.............who in their right mind would try and game with a laptop!? ;)
 You're joking right?
I have always gamed on laptops - M17x, M11x, MBP, VAIO Z... list goes on and on. Add the Air to that list now. The 320M is a very capable chip and it can play many modern games at medium settings smoothly.
The way you describe laptop chipsets makes you sound like you've only ever tried laptop gaming with a GMA500 :p

I saw a story on the news recently where someone accepted a friendship request from someone they went to high school with and were friends with in high school. I guess they didn't know this person as well as they thought. They were actually being watched and monitored for the best times to break into their home. I know this an unusual circumstance but it definitely proves that you can't be too careful.

He came off as an academic elitist with no grounding with the people. Glad to see he has retired where he belongs: out of politics and in academia.
I agree that that is how he came off as. It's too bad that he didn't have an image consultant, and if he did, they did a piss poor job.
He probably would have done a good job if they won, but we'll never know.

Ill agree with you on Lack of Education and Religious Extremism. Resentment, somewhat. I tend to think that if we just leave them the heck alone to do whatever they want and be as Shariah as they please we will see less terror attempts.
Terrorism typically arises from some sort of injustice. I think there is some truth to the clich "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." But "leaving them alone" is somewhat problematic as long as we support multinational enterprise that seeks to extract maximum profit in every corner of the world. Even if the business s not based in America, America is the most prominent target.
I know it is not apples-to-apples, but I was wondering if anyone has seen the National Geographic on North Korea? One part that struck my nerve was at the end when the doctors were removing the bandages from the patients eyes, one of the North Koreans first thing to do was go praise a poster of Ill and promise to "Destroy the american scum with my new eyes" or something like that, despite the fact that much of the equipment used to complete the surgeries was American made and American funded IIRC.
Most likely, the government expects this sort of show of loyalty, when they are paying for your treatment. If you do not do this, you would probably labeled as seditiously ungrateful and they would find some way to make your life miserable.

the iPad will be for normal people when you don't have the sync it.
all this syncing ********* needs to stop.
I shouldn't need another computer to use my iPad.
Makes no sense at all.
True
But do you really need to sync it though?
The apple store will activate it apparently if asked,
and I can't see people having much problem yet if they haven't synced from day 1.
So its possible to own an ipad without a computer.
Only becomes a problem when too many apps require a later OS version

Maybe because that's the only competitor there is right now? No WebOS tablet released. No BlackBerryOS tablet released. I guess technically they could've put some Windows 7 devices on there, but that would've been embarrassing ;)
WebOS, BBOS... all vaporware right now (i.e. non-shiping product) and no matter what, you can't compare vendor hype to reality of a product you can touch and hold in it's shipping form.
The Xoom is a great example of this. Sounded killer on paper and in the demo's looked awesome. But go use one. It's a mess. The one I worked with crashed, had screen lag and choppy animations of icons. Games were a joke. Half of the ones on the demo unit were phone size apps that looked like junk on a tablet.
Not saying the Xoom is not a good tablet. It is. But it's far from the same fit and finish as the iPad or iPad2. It just felt like a beta device that was rushed to market to get out there. I had the same impressions with the first Samsung Tab.
These competitors have got to take quality and overall user experience a lot more serious if they are going to lure the non-techie consumer into their camp. This is where Apple is killing them right now.

It's not going to happen. It would steal sales away from the MacBook Pro, and the cost would be minimal between the two.
IMO, it's by no means out of the question. After all, even the current 13.3" MacBooks will yet go through a number of significant upgrades in future. At some point, it's likely they'll have dedicated graphics. They just won't be on a par with the MBP's graphics (& other extras!).
So it's quite feasible, & it needn't affect MBP sales. Overall, it could also significantly increase the number of switchers from PCs!

There are two things going on here, that are very different:
Apple cannot own the word "pod." Sorry guys, you built your brand on a regular 'ol common word. Apple derived a benefit from using an existing word as part of their product name and they can't just turn that around and take the whole damn word for themselves. They could have called it the "iKerbock" you know, and they'd now own "kerbock." But then, they wouldn't have sold as many iKerbocks as iPods, I'd bet.
However, iPod is Apple's word and they should clearly be able to stop people from using it, especially in an mp3 playing context.
podcast - public domain word
iPodcast - infriges on Apple's trademark.
To put it another way: If Apple can decide to own the word pod, what other words can be owned?
Apple never claimed to own the word "pod" in all contexts. If someone called an mp2 player a "SoundPod", you'd agree that would be a clear violation, correct? Apple is not claiming "seed pod", "escape pod", or "sleep pod" as violations.

An another note, everybody makes mistakes. I don't think it's necessary to insult some of the parents posting here for their struggles with their children. I bet a lot of the insults come from people who aren't even parents themselves, so they wouldn't have a clue about the complexities, difficulties, and stresses associated with being a parent.
These parents already have their hands full without someone else (who probably doesn't understand anyway) insulting them.

The gas price (EURO95) as of today (Netherlands):
€1,675/Liter <--> €6,35/US Gallon
€6,35=$8,90/US Gallon.
So.. It's always been expensive but this is bad.

The picture that is shown tells you how much cheaper (in %) the other countries are (compared to The Netherlands).
