In other words those who choose to go through emp based CP or family based Green Card which US embassy issues, go through Indian hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. I understand your situation as i was there once. If you dont have insurance than your options are very limited. if you live in dallas county parkland hospital is your only choice. Parkland has a network of several clinics around DFW area. Every clinic has financial assistance department. You can visit any of those and they will setup a payment plan which is reasonable based on your income. You will visit them for all prenatal care and when the time comes for delivery it will be taken to parkland. and parkland is a very good hospital as well. beside parkland several hospitals also offer cash plans like RHD memorial at 635 but they will charge you close to 4k just for delivery day and if its a normal one. you will have to do prenatal at your own.

IMO, the key criterion is "occupational classification" under which the new job falls under, not the technologies used. For example, it is logical to conclude that a Software Engineer position that requires programming in Java is in the same or similar occupational classification as a Software Engineer job that requires programming in .NET.
One could argue that .NET is a different technology than Java, but most if not all would agree they fall under the same/similar occupational classification.
So as long as you can make a strong case that the occupational classification for jobs is the same/similar, I don't think there is a problem.
Then again, I am not a lawyer and all that...

I changed jobs using AC21 and am on EAD, my new job utilizes only 50% of the skills from previous job and am getting trained in new technologies in the new job. I am not sure if the new employer will list all technologies mentioned in the labor, but will definitely list all those that are being used. Any comments?

with all due appreciation to the work done by IV, this suggesstion is not thought out.
You just cannot run away from your past. For example your existing applications to USCIS will have your india/<country> passport nos. There are many ways they can trace you.
So growing a moustache etc, or dressing like a mexican will not help.

Call the regular USCIS customer support number and double check the details of the visit. If it is a genuine appointment, it could have been recorded in their system.
Also, you should talk to your Attorney to make sure such visits are legal.
Never heard of it before, strange things are happening nowadays.
BTW, is your employer a consulting firm? Do you think he could be in the visa fraud hit list?
I have one week from now for his visit. He gave me his desk number too. So I guess he is still an ICE employee. I did not call him at that number though.

Although I�m happy with my current employer I just wish for having such a problem � you have to wait 5 more months � or maybe 6 and there you go.
We have to wait years here and have to be careful for everything � renew EAD, renew AP in time (how about H1 and L1's not able to file for GC ... ), oh yeah -do not change job or if you do you have to be conform with certain things; and do not be laid off since other than not having income it sucks a bit from the immigration side too�; and so on, sorry guys something is really f�. up here;

I still don't get it. There are around 300k AOS applications now pending. Given that there are only 10k EB based green cards for India, and I am sure there are more applications than 10k for FY2008 and still Visa bulletin for Oct indicates a date of Apr 2004. Should it not be "U" for the entire FY2008?

well this is your time. with eb3 row 2009, you probably are in wait for at least 5 years. Anyway the point is, no country would be stupid enough to stop great talent from coming through to satisfy it's diversity policy. When you are talking about 0.14 million immigrants for a nation of 300 million, that's less than 0.05%. So please take your diversity argument with you and don't let the door hit you on your way out. For this miniscule percentage, the US will lose out on thousands of the best Indian and Chinese engineering/science talent. US's loss, India/China's gain. If this is not an example of an extremely stupid strategic policy then I'm not sure what is.

In what part of the world is standing up against drug peddlers and traffickers is limited to "personal" interpretations of moral? Drug laws are not intended to satisfy some lawmakers personal morals, but it is there because selling drugs is illegal regardless of what yours, mine or anyone else's personal moral fabric is.
We are not talking here about the idea of sex before marriage, , drinking, or other values that are left to the individual's personal moral beliefs. We are not talking about that here. We are discussion DRUGS in case you were not paying attention.

Your are thinking under two assumptions:
1. There is nothing left for innovation in the tech field. so no new job creation is expected in the future.
2. There will be more supply of tech workers which will surpass the job creation rate (if in any amount) thereby depressing the wages.
who is to know that your assumptions are correct? :confused:
Whereas the reality is the job creation has been exponentially growing because of emerging technologies and the will to immigrate to US is surely on decrease and add reverse brain drain to it. So for next 5-10 years it will become increasingly difficult to find talented people as they will be evaporated from the market because of 65K H1B cap for last 3 years and a huge outflux of talented professionals.
I said this before in my previous posts and i will say it again. I you are worth your salt and know what you are doing, you will be worth your weight in gold in coming years. Stick to the fight and get your GC. :cool:
(BTW, for these opinions, i am inspired by a recent book i read on globalization- The world is Flat by Thomas Friedman. I think it shall be a must read for every H1B to GC applicant)

With the current rate of outsourcing happening around in US and the rate of influx of temporary workers coming in on mostly L1 and may be few on H1 B Visas every year through the outsourcing companies , i am sceptical about the future of GC aspirants. With the way of GC processing happening which are caused by restrictions /policies of governing bodies and no sight of positive relief in near future i am little apprehensive about the future.
I feel that there might be no areas that are not impacted by Outsourcing boom . Most of the companies that i see and my friends work ,i see many of the operations are outsourced or planning in place to get outsourced.
with the current rate of outsourcing and subprime mess which may cause slow down in economy , i am not sure if there would be any positions to support our AOS , when our PD becomes current. Some times i think , the fight for GC is even worth it.
